The participating teams in the Azerbaijan National Rounds of the 2024 Philip C. Jessup International Moot Court Competition were Baku State University and ADA University. Each team pleaded twice – once as Applicant and once as Respondent, resulting in two rounds.

The champion of the National Round was determined based on overall wins. As a result, the ADA team, securing two wins, emerged as the champion of the Azerbaijan National Rounds. The ADA team placed first in the overall memorial ranking of national rounds with 543 points, while the BSU team placed second with 479 points. Overall, the ADA team had 1570 raw points and the BSU team had 1470 raw points during National Rounds.

Post International Rounds

The ADA team has achieved the best results of recent years in the international rounds as a representative of Azerbaijan!

For the first time in the history of Jessup Azerbaijan, a representative team won the right to participate in the Advanced Rounds!

This achievement was made with three wins from a total of four rounds and a total of 3063 raw points. Among 143 teams according to the final ranking, the representative of Azerbaijan was ranked 29th. The ADA team secured second place in the Alona E. Evans Award for Best Team Memorials at the International Rounds. Zeynab Guluzada, as per individual scores, took 28th place in the global oralists ranking with an average of 90.20 points. If we take the available historical records, this is the highest since 2000, when we started participating in the competition. In addition, Zeynab Guluzada was honored as the 2024 Recipient of the International Law Institute Award.
